TLW outreach to Vereeniging
5 – 9 May, 2003
Four true-love-waiters held a week of TLW-meetings at schools in Vereeniging and surrounding towns. Mrs Hannie du Preez, who also hosted some of the team, and Mr Henri Slabbert arranged the meetings. Mr and Mrs Potgieter hosted the rest of the team.
The message was well received as the youth grasped to message of purity. At one particular school, Meyerton High, we experienced much difficulty to speak at first, but eventually there came a clear separation between those who wanted abstain and those who didn't. Afterwards some students came, not only to receive cards, but also to ask for guidance in their personal lives. At another school, Gen Smuts High, we went from class to class, addressing the students. Here we had some wonderful question and answer sessions with some classes, addressing questions such as "Where purity starts", "Why free love is a myth", "Why any form of sexual relationship is wrong before marriage", "What true love is", and "Why each person is responsible for his choices".
There were many other highlights we could still mention, but of particular note is the hospitality we received from our hosts, and the blessed times we could spend with them when there were no appointments (although they were few and short!). All of us in the team would like to affirm, "It was worth it!"
