Carl Lewis is one of only four Olympic athletes to win nine gold medals and one of only three to win the same individual event four times. A four-time Olympic Games participant, Lewis says that the Games are about togetherness, fellowship, and sharing. "It is about bringing together the best of the best. It is one of the only events in the world that brings everyone together."
Whilst in Athens the former Olympian from America intends to enjoy the sporting events "I definitely want to see the Williams sisters play doubles - I've got to do that. And Alison Felix, the sprinter - that may be the only time that I go to the track. She is a young 200 m runner from America. She is a neat young lady and look forward to seeing her." But the athletics specialist is also curious to discover new sports: "I'd also like to see some other sports that I have never before seen like rowing and maybe archery. I can't imagine the precision of some of those sports."
When asked what makes a great Olympian, Lewis responded: "Someone that enjoys the experience and leaves there different - a different person. All my Olympic experiences were totally different. And I am a better person because of each one of them." A great Olympian himself, Lewis continues: "If you can come here and meet people have pride in the sense that you are at the greatest event in the world. And whether you win or not, you are amongst the greatest in the world."
And three words to describe Olympism? "Champion, global and fellowship."

Make plans with your youth group to watch the video of the True Love Waits Global Celebration! You will be able to download the hour-long video of the day's event from this site at any time after 5:00 p.m. (EST) on August 22. This video will be available in High Quality QuickTime Video format as well as High Quality Windows Media.

Host a rally in your church or community that night to pray and view the Athens event. You could even show a part or all of the video in your evening church service. What an amazing time it will be as students from all around the world see the international card display and celebrate together.
